Descriptions & Duties

  • Lift/ Escalator Technicians perform technical tasks, either independently or under the direction of a qualified engineer, contributory to design, development, manufacture, installation, operation, maintenance and repair of both mechanical and electrical equipment for various types of lifts and escalators.

Trade Specific Competencies

Technical knowledge and skills in mechanical engineering

Lift/ Escalator Technicians must conduct tests and inspections on both mechanical and electrical equipment for lifts and escalators and evaluate the results.

Analysis knowledge and skills

Lift/ Escalator Technicians should understand and interpret engineering drawings and specifications to carry out the design for various types of lifts and escalators systems.

General Requirements

Academic qualification

  • A higher diploma or an associate degree in building services/ electrical/ mechanical engineering, or equivalent

Professional qualification

  • Registered Lift/ Escalator Workers (You may visit Electrical and Mechanical Services Department website for registration details)

Experience

  • 1 to 2 years of relevant work experiences

Work Environment
