Agricultural & Forestry Technicians

Descriptions & Duties

  • Agricultural & Forestry Technicians prepare specimens or record data, and provide technical and scientific support to agricultural scientists and farmers. They examine livestock or crop specimens to confirm the presence of diseases or other problems. They collect, prepare, analyse, and properly store crop or animal samples such as soils, plant or animal cells, tissues or parts or animal organs for analysis. They prepare reports and develop and set standards of quality by summarising data analysis including results, charts, or graphs to record research findings.

General Requirements

Academic qualification

  • Typically need a higher diploma or an associate degree in applied science, biology, chemistry, animal science, laboratory technicians or a related field

  • 3 years of work experience in biological laboratories or related occupation
