Descriptions & Duties
- Fashion Designers create designs for clothing products, harmonising aesthetic considerations with technical, merchandising and costing requirements. Their duties include studying fashion trends, and identifying target markets for designs; selecting fabrics, colours, materials and production techniques to be used for garments; preparing sketches, diagrams, illustrations, plans, samples and models; preparing samples of garments to sales representatives, and presenting samples at sales meetings; monitoring and overseeing the final production of their designs.
