Descriptions & Duties

  • Pet Groomers & Animal Keepers provide care for animals, such as dogs, cats, birds, reptiles. They feed, groom and train animals.
    They are responsible for feeding animals;
    exercising animals to maintain their health;
    perform animal grooming tasks e.g., bathing animals, cutting nails, clipping hairs etc.; cleaning and sterilising equipment and the living spaces of animals;
    monitoring animals, and recording their physical conditions and behaviour;
    examining animals to detect signs of illness;
    training animals to obey or develop desired behaviour;
    ordering and storing feed and supplies; performing routine animal care equipment maintenance, e.g., feeding devices, animal cages.
