  • Operates and monitors smart manufacturing systems including IoT-connected equipment, automated production lines and manufacturing execution systems. Identifies anomalies, performs system checks and escalates technical issues as required.

Trade Specific Competencies

Knowledge of smart manufacturing technologies, industrial automation systems, robotics, Industrial Internet of Things, manufacturing data analytics, Manufacturing Execution System, Enterprise Resource Planning system, and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition system, production processes, and equipment maintenance.

Possesses competencies in operating and maintaining smart manufacturing systems, automation equipment, and robotics; monitoring and analysing production data; supporting Enterprise Resource Planning systems, Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition systems, and Industrial IoT applications; troubleshooting technical issues; and implementing digital technologies to improve production efficiency, quality, and reliability.

General Requirements

Academic qualification

  • A Higher Diploma or Diploma in Smart Manufacturing, Automation Engineering, Mechatronics, Manufacturing Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.

  • Assistant Smart Manufacturing Technician  (0-2 years)
