To lead environmental engineering construction projects, Environmental Engineers must manage projects from start to finish. They must coordinate effectively with different professionals and clients and have to make choices to ensure that the projects are well completed on time and within budget.

General Requirements

Academic qualification

  • Normally have a bachelor's degree in environmental engineering or related field, such as civil, chemical, or general engineering.  Holders of relevant higher diplomas can articulate to related degree programmes.

Professional qualification

  • generally are corporate members of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE) in Environmental Engineering Discipline, or equivalent

Experience

  • usually 4 to 6 years of experience in environmental management, monitoring and auditing of construction activities are required
