Descriptions & Duties

  • Yacht Captains (Maritime) manoeuvre the yachts during navigation, berthing and unberthing. Subject to the size of the yachts, they may need to assist with guest service, co-ordinate food and beverage on board and maintain the yacht.

Professional knowledge and skills in navigation

Yacht Captains (Maritime) must always apply professional knowledge and skills in navigation to ensure safe navigation of yachts.

Knowledge and skills in machinery maintenance

Yacht Captains (Maritime) should be able to repair and maintain the machinery of the yachts.

General Requirements

Professional qualification

  • Pleasure Vessel Operator Grade 1 Certificate (for any yachts operating in Hong Kong Waters); Pleasure Vessel Operator Grade 2 Certificate (for yachts of not more than 15 meters in length overall operating in Hong Kong Waters)

Experience

  • 3 to 5 years of yachting experience

Other specific requirements

  • Meet the eyesight standard defined by the Marine Department; first-aid and fire-fighting certificates preferred

Monthly Salary $12,000-$20,000

Monthly Salary $25,000 and above

Work Environment

  • Yacht Captains (Maritime) work on yachts most of the time. They are exposed to all kinds of weather and required to work on irregular hours subject to the needs of their employers.
