Aircraft Maintenance Engineers

Descriptions & Duties

  • Aircraft Maintenance Engineers plan, lead and supervise aircraft maintenance checks. They are responsible for identifying and rectifying problems and defects, analysing and interpreting technical procedures, schematic engineering diagrams, manuals and publications. They also approve authorisation holder for issuing Certificate of Release to Service for different types of aircraft. He/she should be the holder of Category A or B Aircraft Maintenance Licence.

Aircraft Maintenance Engineers lead and supervise aircraft maintenance checks to ensure a high level of safety, reliability and security required by regulatory authorities and the company. They have to ensure that all signed technical logs and documents are completed correctly in accordance with handling procedures and standards.

Communication knowledge and skills

Aircraft Maintenance Engineers must be able to work with others during maintenance and repair of aircraft. They must give clear instructions to their subordinates.

General Requirements

Academic qualification

  • A higher diploma or degree, preferably in aircraft maintenance or engineering, or equivalent

Professional qualification

Experience

  • 5 to 8 years of relevant work experience
