Academic qualification
- A higher diploma in maritime studies or above
Professional qualification
- Relevant certificates recognised by ocean going sector and/ or river trade sector

Work Environment
- Deck Cadets (Maritime) wear uniform and usually work on vessels. They are exposed to all kinds of weather and shift duty may be required.
