Trade Specific Competencies

Knowledge and skills in enforcing Road Traffic Ordinance and Regulations

Transport officers must be able to examine the acceptability/ adequacy of evidence collected and initiate prosecution action to be taken on offences in contravention of the Road Traffic Ordinance and Regulations administered by the Transport Department, and prepare summons and appear in court as prosecutor.

Knowledge and skill in formulating/ coordinating tendering exercises

Transport officers must be able to formulate/ coordinate tendering exercises and evaluate tender submissions in respect of public transport and management services under Transport Department.

General Requirements

Academic qualification

  • A bachelor's degree (Transport/ Town & Urban Plan/ Environ/ Busi/ Public Adm/ Geo/ Socio), or Chartered Member of CILTHK, or equivalent

Other specific requirements

  • CRE: Level 2 in English & Chinese, pass an Aptitude Test; fluent Cantonese and English
