Academic qualification

  • normally have a Certificate for Junior General Purpose Ratings

Other specific requirements

  • Complete specified short training courses before going on board; Attain the age of 16.5 or above; Pass eyesight and colour blindness test; Complete training in: (a) Personal Survival Techniques (Local Craft) (b) Elementary First Aid and Proficiency in Medical First Aid (c) Fire Fighting (Local Craft)
