Descriptions & Duties

  • Financial Adviser Representatives advise customers of market conditions and the history and prospects of various corporations. They present features of selected fund portfolios and investment products to customers. Financial Adviser Representatives calculate rates of proposed plans and draw up sale and purchase contracts. They also advise customers of the selection of unit trusts or mutual funds units and other investment products.

General Requirements

Academic qualification

  • A recognised bachelor's degree in finance, economics, accounting, business, mathematics, or equivalent

Professional qualification

  • usually are corporate members of the Institute of Financial Planners of Hong Kong

Experience

  • generally complete Certified Financial Planner (CFPCM) Certification Education Programme, or Associate Financial Planner (AFPTM) Certification Education Programme - to be a certified financial planner, or an associate financial planner, or equivalent qualification

Other specific requirements

  • usually 3 to 5 years of financial and investment experience is required
