Descriptions & Duties

  • Producers & Directors plan and develop live or recorded productions, and determine how the show will look and sound. Select the script, set, props, lighting, and other production elements. Also co-ordinate the activities of on-air personalities, production staff, and other personnel; overseeing the postproduction process, including film and sound editing, special effects and music selection.

Trade Specific Competencies

Knowledge in media production

Producers and Directors should possess wide range of media production knowledge, including theoretical knowledge and practical application of media technologies, in order to enable manage the process of photography, video and film making. With knowledge in media production, Directors should be able to transform creative, imaginative ideas into practical reality and Producers have to put together cast and crew, plan, organise and schedule the filming project within budget and communicate project information with the team.

General Requirements

Academic qualification

  • generally have a higher diploma or bachelor's degree in media, communications, journalism, film production, acting or arts management

Experience

  • at least 5 to 7 years' relevant experience
