Trade Specific Competencies

Knowledge in publishing software

Desktop Publishers must be familiar with the use of publishing software to create layout for print or electronic publishing purpose. They have to pay attention to details such as margins, font sizes, font style, spacing, spelling and the overall appearance of the material. As some of the works are published online, or in form of electronic publication, Desktop Publishers should be required to use web publishing or E-publishing software as well.

  • Completion of the higher diploma or diplomas in printing / publishing or related discipline
