  • Editorial Directors/ Chief Editors/ Publishing Directors are responsible for editorial policy and standards, departmental organisation and procedures, the profitability of new publications, authors' royalty policy and legal implications especially copy-right. Co-ordinate editorial and research activities with production, design and marketing departments, and monitor schedules of e-publishing business.

Knowledge on new technology

Chief Editors should be able to utilize new technology to plan and manage editorial project. He/She may have to generate new ideas to enhance editorial procedures and increase readership. Chief Editors should be familiar with the development of E-publishing in order to co-ordinate the editorial activities with production.

Knowledge in budget and copyright management

Chief Editors have to plan budget for publications and handle copyright issues. Knowledge in copyright rules and intellectual property regulations is crucial for Chief Editors to negotiate contracts and plan new projects.

General Requirements

Academic qualification

  • Completion of the bachelor's or master's degree in publishing or related discipline

Experience

  • At least 5 years of relevant experience
