ICAC Officers

Descriptions & Duties

  • ICAC Officers are responsible for fighting corruption through law enforcement. They receive and consider complaints alleging corrupt practices and investigate such of those complaints as he considers practicable, gather evidence and carry out analysis. They examine the practices and procedures of government departments and public bodies and secure revision of any that may be conducive to corruption. They also educate the public against the evils of corruption and enlist and foster public support in combatting corruption.

ICAC Officers apply the corruption fighting skills when conducting investigations and arrest operations. They must be people with a strong sense of integrity when accessing to sensitive information and gathering evidence.

General Requirements

Academic qualification

  • A bachelor's degree, or equivalent

Other specific requirements

  • Level 4 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in HKDSEE or HKCEE, or Level 1 in Use of Chinese and Use of English in the Common Recruitment Examination, or equivalent

Work Environment

  • ICAC Officers may have to search for evidence from suspect's office and present in court after analysis.
