Waiters/ Waitresses

Descriptions & Duties

  • Waiters/ Waitresses work in an assigned station and are responsible for the table-setting, dishing-up jobs and cleaning of tables. They have to know the preparation of common menu items and chef's daily recommendations and may have to do cashiering job if necessary. They take reservations, welcome and greet guests to their seats, take relations food and drinks order, report guest comments to Restaurant Manager, maintain good customer and keep guest history, serve guests in assigned station under the supervision of a captain.

Knowledge on Food Hygiene and Safety

Waiters/ waitresses should possess basic knowledge on food hygiene and safety. Waiters/ waitresses should be familiar with the ingredients of dishes in the menu and the basics of how the dishes are prepared, and the types of beverages and/or wines the restaurant provides.
