Banquet Co-ordinators

Descriptions & Duties

  • Banquet Co-ordinators co-ordinate and supervise the work of hotel food and beverage/banqueting staff and handle complaints on food quality and service. They assist in tailor-making menus for banquets and prepare event orders. Banquet Co-ordinators also make necessary adjustments according to guest’s requirements and schedule banqueting staff for different functions.

Trade Specific Competencies

Knowledge on Food Hygiene and Safety

Banquet Co-ordinators should possess professional knowledge on food hygiene and safety. Holders of "Basic Food Hygiene Certificate for Hygiene Supervisors" and/or "Basic Food Hygiene Certificate for Hygiene Managers" recognised by the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department in Hong Kong would be an advantage.

Professional qualification

  • Banquet Co-ordinators with holders of "Basic Food Hygiene Certificate for Hygiene Supervisors" and/or "Basic Food Hygiene Certificate for Hygiene Managers" recognised by the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department in Hong Kong would be an advantage

Experience

  • 1 to 3 years’ relevant working experience is preferable

Work Environment

  • Banquet Co-ordinators usually work in offices and are required to stay onsite at banquet or meeting facilities of hotels or convention centres. They organise banquets and related events and have to visit prospective banquet sites. They often need to work many additional hours to finalise preparations before banquets and to work on weekends and public holidays.
