Descriptions & Duties

  • Travel Consultants provide information on tours and travel related services and products available, details of the destinations, budget, travel documents required and make recommendations and bookings for travel arrangements. They recommend, plan, organise and follow-up with tailor-made travel arrangements including meetings, incentives, conventions and exhibitions (MICE) related arrangements for customers.

Trade Specific Competencies

Professional knowledge in travel and MICE (Meetings, incentives, conferencing, exhibitions) related services and products

Travel Consultants must be familiar with relevant and related transportation and accommodation services, routes, products plus miscellaneous relevant information and geographical information such as itineraries and specialities in different destinations. They must also be familiar with cruises and MICE related information such as exhibitions dates and venues.

Professional knowledge in ticketing

Travel Consultants must have adequate knowledge and skills in air ticket fare construction, calculation and booking systems such as ABACUS.

General Requirements

Academic qualification

  • Secondary 5/ HKDSE or above

Experience

  • 1 to 2 years' relevant working experience is preferable
